Modify a composite locator's settings

After a composite locator is created, you can modify its settings. See Define the locator components for more information about components and matching options that you can modify in a locator.

  1. In the Catalog pane, right-click the composite locator you want to modify, and click Properties to open the Composite Locator Properties dialog box.

A composite locator must be added to your project in order to open the Composite Locator Properties dialog box.

  3. The participating locator's input fields are mapped to the composite locator's input fields. The composite locator's input fields are listed in the Input fields section. If needed, you can add or remove an input field in this section.
  4. On the Participating locators tab, you can view and modify settings on the individual participating locators that will affect the composite locator.
    1. In the top section, you can select one of the participating locators, and the tabs in the bottom section will reflect the settings for the selected participating locator. In this section, you can also re-order, delete, or add new participating locators.
    2. In the bottom section, you can enable or disable the selected participating locator by clicking the Enable/Disablecheck box.
    3. In the Locator Info section, you can modify the locator alias name of the selected participating locator as it is referenced from the composite locator. You can also view the path from which the selected participating locator is being referenced.
    4. In the Field Mapping section, you can view or modify the field mappings of the selected participating locator. Clicking the drop-down menu for each field displays all the available fields, and you can choose the appropriate one. Learn more about locator input address fields properties.
