Save or discard edits

On the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, Save Save Edits and Discard Discard Edits save and discard your edits, respectively. By default, they show a dialog box, allowing you to review the layers or data sources containing edits before you click Yes or No. The dialog box also appears when other operations risk losing unsaved edits such as removing a layer, deleting a map, or changing a data source.

Your edits to versioned data and edits made on other desktops to the same version are automatically reconciled based on your settings in the Options dialog box. By default, attributes, not geometry, are reconciled as conflicts, and the Conflict Manager dialog box appears, allowing you to review the conflicts before saving your edits.
