View layer permissions for editing

On the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, Status Editing Status opens a dialog box that reports editing permissions and source information about layers in your project. You can expand a status, and drill down to the workspace and view information about its data source. Links to help topics appear as a clickable Help icon Help next to a message.

Layers are organized by the following status:

  • Noneditable Attention
  • Editable with warnings Warning
  • Editable Editable

By default, editing is automatically enabled for editable layers when you add them to a map or a scene. For steps to specify which layers can be edited, see Specify which layers can be edited.
