On the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, Status opens a dialog box that reports the editing status for layers contained in maps and scenes in your project. You can expand a status, and drill down to the workspace and view information about a data source. Links to help topics appear as a clickable Help icon next to a message.
Layers are organized by the following status:
- Editable with warnings
By default, editing is automatically enabled for editable layers when you add them to a map or a scene. For steps to specify which layers can be edited, see Specify which layers can be edited.
View the editing status for layers
To view the editing status for layers in your map or scene, on the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, click Status . In the dialog box that appears, click the map or scene, and expand a status message.
On the Edit tab, in the Manage Edits group, click Status .
The Editing Status dialog box appears.
- Click the map or scene.
Status messages appear.
- Expand a status message, drill down to the workspace, and view information about the data source.
- Hover over a workspace name to view pop-up information about its data path.
- If a Help icon appears next to a status message, click it to learn more about the message.
- Click Close.
The dialog box closes.
