Keyboard shortcuts for working on the layout

Keyboard shortcuts can help you save time and be more productive when working on a layout. In most cases, the layout view must have keyboard focus (be the active window) to use the shortcuts.

Select on the layout

Use keyboard shortcuts to make selections.

Ctrl+A

Select all the elements on the page.

Ctrl+Backspace

Unselect all the elements on the page.

Shift+Down Arrow (or Shift+Up Arrow)

Continuously select elements. Elements are deselected if you switch arrow keys while still holding down Shift.

Keyboard shortcuts can be used to select and unselect elements on the page.

Edit on the layout

Use keyboard shortcuts to work with elements on the page. Most of these shortcuts require a selection first.

Delete

Delete the selected elements.

Ctrl+C

Copy the selected elements.

Ctrl+V

Paste the contents of the clipboard to the page.

Ctrl+Spacebar

Toggle the visibility of the selected elements.

Shift+Arrow Keys

Nudge selected elements 1/10 of the current page unit.

Ctrl+Arrow Keys

Nudge selected elements 1/100 of the current page unit.

Navigate the page

Use keyboard shortcuts to navigate the page.

Arrow Keys

Pan in the direction of the arrow key.

Insert

Zoom to the full page.

Minus Sign (-)

Zoom out.

Plus Sign (+)

Zoom in.

C key

Override the active tool with navigate tool.
