Scene layer packages (.slpk) contain a cache of a multipatch, point, or point cloud datasets. Scene layer packages can be published as web scene layers to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Portal for ArcGIS 10.3.1 or later with ArcGIS Data Store.
In ArcGIS Pro 1.3, scene layer packages were saved with the extension .spk. Scene layer packages with the .spk extension and .slpk extension are supported in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Web scene layers created from scene layer packages that contain point cloud layers cannot be displayed in the ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5 or Portal for ArcGIS scene viewer.
Create a scene package
- Use the Create Scene Layer Package tool to create a local scene layer package.
- Select a multipatch, point, or point cloud layer as the Input Layer.
- Specify the Output Scene Package.
A scene layer package is saved locally and can now be uploaded to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise and published as a web scene layer.
The scene layer package can be uploaded through ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise if it's less than one GB. If it's larger, use the Share Package tool to add it to your content.
