The ArcGIS Data Reviewer extension adds a data quality control framework to ArcGIS. Data Reviewer validates data using different checks, contained in batch jobs, that test spatial relationships and integrity. It also provides tools to correct errors found during validation.
The Data Reviewer toolbox contains tools that support data validation, including creating Reviewer sessions and running batch jobs.
| Toolset | Description |
|---|---|
| Data Sampling | The Data Sampling toolset contains tools for selecting random data samples or reselecting previously generated samples. Use these tools in ArcGIS Data Reviewer visual review workflows by creating a data sample to identify errors and ensure that a representative data sample meets industry standards. Use the generated data sample with Data Reviewer tools, such as Browse Features, to further verify that the data is error free. |
| Data Validation | The Data Validation toolset contains tools to ensure that data meets a product specification or other business rules in an organization. The Data Validation toolset has tools for running batch jobs on data to ensure that the data complies with rules the organization has defined for the data before it is considered valid. |
| Result Management | Batch job results are stored in sessions in Reviewer workspaces. Sessions can be organized in a number of ways to show the state of the data at different points in time, or by the types of results produced, such as sampling and feature class results. Tools in the Result Management toolset can be used to manage the sessions containing the results. |
