Description
The DIST item in the buffer table is not a numeric item. Buffer requires numeric values to successfully execute.
Solution
Rename or remove the existing DIST field and create a new numeric DIST item (that is, numeric, integer, float, or binary) in the buffer table and assign values as appropriate.
