110501: The index could not be calculated because one or more variables have negative values.

Description

If either the Multiply or Geometric mean option is specified for the Method to Combine Scaled Variables parameter, none of the scaled variables can contain negative values.

This error can occur in various situations depending on the value of the Method to Scale Input Variables parameter:

  • Raw value—Any of the values of the input fields may contain negative values.
  • Z-score—Any of the values of the input field may have negative z-scores as determined by the mean and standard deviation of the input field.
  • Z-score (custom)—Any of the values of the input field may have negative z-scores as determined by the custom mean and standard deviation.

Solution

Use a different option for the Method to Combine Scaled Variables parameter, or remove or alter the input fields resulting in variables with negative values.
