Compilation scale

Mit der ArcGIS Maritime-Lizenz verfügbar.

Before creating features, user and agency identification information must be defined in the EditingProperties table, and the compilation scale must be set. Compilation scale settings are established based on the scale at which the data is compiled. These settings ensure the accuracy and detail of nautical charts.

The compilation scale settings can be adjusted using the Minimum Compilation Scale and Compilation Scale drop-down menus in the S-100 Editing group on the Maritime S-101 tab of the ribbon. The setting automatically populates the minimumCompilationScale and compilationScale attributes for each inserted feature.

The Export S-101 Cell tool uses the compilationScale and minimumCompilationScale attributes of a feature to determine its inclusion in an exported dataset.

For a feature intended for export in a single product, both compilationScale and minimumCompilationScale should match the optimumDisplayScale of the corresponding ProductCoverage feature.

In cases where a feature is conflated to span multiple scale bands, the minimumCompilationScale must be set to a smaller scale than the compilationScale. This configuration ensures that the feature is exported for all products with optimumDisplayScale within the range [compilationScale, minimumCompilationScale].

The compilation and minimum compilation scales must each be set to any one of the scales listed in the following table:

Scale

1:10,000,000

1:3,500,000

1:1,500,000

1:700,000

1:350,000

1:180,000

1:90,000

1:45,000

1:22,000

1:12,000

1:8,000

1:4,000

1:3,000

1:2,000

1:1,000

The following examples demonstrate how the compilation scale values impact exports:

  • If compilationScale=minimumCompilationScale=4000, the feature is only exported for products when optimumDisplayScale=4000.
  • If compilationScale=4000 and minimumCompilationScale=22000, the feature is exported for products with optimum display scale values of 4,000, 8,000, 12,000, and 22,000.
