An overview of the Tasks toolset

The Tasks toolset contains tools that create, execute, and report status on jobs in an automated workflow.

Tools in the Tasks toolset

Tool	Description
Cancel Remaining Tasks	Prevents the remaining tasks in a job from starting or being created. The active task and its task group job will still complete.
Create Job For Task	Automatically creates a Workflow Manager (Classic) job for a task.
Insert Task Group	Adds tasks from the chosen task group to a job when required by workflow execution.
Set Next Task	Sets the next task in a workflow from the task list.
Set Task List	Populates the list of expected tasks for a job based on the selected task group.
Set Task Status	Updates the status of a task based on the state of the Workflow Manager (Classic) job created for the task.
