Most enterprise geodatabase maintenance tasks help to maintain query performance. These tasks are performed by the geodatabase administrator and include the following:
- Update database statistics.
- Compress geodatabases that use traditional versioning.
- Rebuild Indexes on system tables in geodatabases that use traditional versioning (states, state_lineages, and mv_tables_modified system tables).
To apply fixes and new functionality implemented in a new ArcGIS release, upgrade your geodatabases after you update your ArcGIS software.
