What is the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop?

The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop is an integrated spatial extract, transform, and load (ETL) toolset that runs within the geoprocessing framework using Safe Software's FME technology. When using the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop, you can also launch the Workbench application directly, which allows you to author FMW files that can be directly attached to an ETL tool.

ArcGIS Pro

The Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Desktop is a separate extension that is a separate install.

  • Authorizing the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop with a valid license in ArcGIS Pro adds additional out-of-the-box support for creating ETL tools using the FME Workbench application.
