As a geodatabase administrator, you can change a setting in the geodatabase to prevent new connections to the geodatabase. Existing connections remain.
You might block new connections to a geodatabase before certain maintenance operations such as compressing, upgrading, or making a full backup of the geodatabase.
- Start ArcGIS Pro
- Connect to the geodatabase as the geodatabase administrator.
- Right-click the database connection and click Properties.
- Click Connections.
- Uncheck Geodatabase is accepting connections.
No new connections can be made to the geodatabase. Existing connections remain active.
Note:
The geodatabase administrator can always make a connection to the geodatabase regardless of how this property is set.
If you also need to remove existing connections, see Manage connections to a geodatabase in PostgreSQL.
