Available with Workflow Manager license.
The connection information for all your spatial data can be set up so that ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) manages how you connect to the data that you want edited.
Data workspace
In addition to storing the configuration and job information, the Workflow Manager (Classic) repository also stores the data workspace connection information for your spatial data. You can configure as many data workspace connections as you need.
You can add a data workspace by using connection properties for the geodatabase. These connection properties are used when Workflow Manager (Classic) creates an edit version or launches ArcGIS Pro. You can also add a feature service data workspace by using a service URL. The edit version created from the feature service can be accessed in ArcGIS Pro and used for data editing.
Add a data workspace
- Start ArcGIS Workflow Manager (Classic) Administrator and connect to the Workflow Manager (Classic) database.
- Expand the GeoDatabases folder.
- Right-click Data Workspaces and click Add Data Workspace.
- Type the alias you want to use along with the connection properties for the geodatabase where your spatial data is stored.
- Click OK.
- If you would like each of your Workflow Manager (Classic) users to connect to the spatial data with separate logins, click the Authentication Type drop-down arrow and choose Each Workflow Manager user will connect with their own database login option, and click Add to configure connection properties for each Workflow Manager (Classic) user.
- Click OK.
Add a feature service data workspace
A feature service data workspace is accessed through the feature service URL. The edit version for a feature service data workspace can be accessed in ArcGIS Pro and used for data editing. When a feature service data workspace is chosen for a job, the parent version is set to sde.Default and cannot be updated.
- Open Workflow Manager (Classic) Administrator for ArcGIS Pro and connect to the Workflow Manager (Classic) database.
- Expand the GeoDatabases folder.
- Right-click Data Workspaces and click Add Feature Service Data Workspace.
The Feature Service Data Workspace Properties dialog box appears.
- Type the name and URL of the feature service data workspace in the Name and URL text boxes.
- Click OK.
Once the data workspace has been added, the spatial data stored in the feature service can be managed by Workflow Manager (Classic).
