With the release of ArcGIS License Manager 2019.2, ArcGIS Pro 2.5, and ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.1, all licensing options, except Named User licensing in ArcGIS Enterprise, are supported in certain virtualized environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
Named User licenses
To start ArcGIS Pro with a Named User license in a virtualized environment, you must be a member of an ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise organization and must be assigned a GIS Professional user type or ArcGIS Pro add-on license. With respect to Named User licensing, there is no difference between using ArcGIS Pro in a virtualized or nonvirtualized environment. See Named User licensing in ArcGIS Online or Named User licensing in ArcGIS Enterprise for more information.
Concurrent Use licenses
With the release of ArcGIS License Manager 2019.2, you can host License Manager in a cloud environment, such as AWS or Azure, to serve Concurrent Use licenses for ArcGIS Pro. You can also serve licenses for ArcMap and other ArcGIS applications.
Single Use licenses
With the release of ArcGIS Pro 2.5, you can install ArcGIS Pro and authorize it with Single Use licenses in a cloud environment, such as AWS or Azure.
Additional information
