00336: The Sync Version Creation option None is not supported for data that is registered for traditional versioning; layer count=<value>

You attempted to publish data that is registered for traditional versioning with the None sync version creation option enabled. This option is not supported for data that is registered for traditional versioning.

The layer count in the message indicates how many layers in your map are registered for traditional versioning.

Solution

When publishing data that participates in traditional versioning, the following sync options are supported:

  • Create a version for each user—With this option, a geodatabase version is created for each portal user who takes the feature service offline in an offline web map.
  • Create a version for each downloaded map—With this option, each time an offline web map is downloaded, a geodatabase version is created. Offline edits are synchronized with the replica version.

Use one of these options instead. To help you decide what option to use, see Offline maps and traditional versioned data in the ArcGIS Enterprise help.

Or, if your feature service does not need to be used in offline workflows, don't enable sync.
