Summary

Aligns features to a grid or to the page.

Using the Rotate Aviation Features tool, you can automate the rotation of point and annotation features on a chart to make them easier to read. The Rotate Aviation Features tool combines functionality from two ArcMap tools: Annotation Rotation and Rotate To Grid.

Usage

  • The cartographic features you input to the Target Point or Annotation Features parameter must have a CARTOANGLE_VAL field.

    Note:

    Annotation features are not required to have a CARTOANGLE_VAL field.

Parameters

Input Map

The map containing aviation features.

Map
Target Point or Annotation Layers

The point or annotation feature layers that will be rotated.

Rotate Option
(Optional)

Specifies how the features will be rotated.

  • Rotate to the map's grid — The features will be rotated to the map's grid. This is the default.
  • Rotate to the top of the page — The features will be rotated to the top of the page.
  • Rotate to the left of the page — The features will be rotated to the left side of the page.
  • Rotate to the bottom of the page — The features will be rotated to the bottom of the page.
  • Rotate to the right of the page — The features will be rotated to the right side of the page.
