Available for an ArcGIS organization licensed with the Indoors extension.
If you have floor plan information stored in CAD drawings, you can use the Import Floorplans To Indoors Geodatabase tool to import that information into your indoor dataset (created using the Create Indoor Dataset tool) or Indoors geodatabase (created using the Create Indoors Database tool). The import process uses a configuration file to map the information from your CAD layers to the corresponding indoor feature classes. This configuration file supports using multiple CAD drawings and overlays. When there are updates to the CAD files, you can configure the tool to import just the CAD floor plans that have changed.
Note:
Before importing CAD data, make sure your CAD drawings have been properly georeferenced.
The process to import CAD floor plans to your indoor dataset includes the following:
- Configure CAD floor plan mappings and metadata.
- Map CAD layers to feature classes in the indoor dataset.
- Map CAD annotation to feature class attributes in the indoor dataset.
- Configure facility properties.
- Configure level properties.
- Configure source files.
- Import CAD floor plans.
- Perform quality control checks.
