Run batch jobs on data

Available with Data Reviewer license.

A Reviewer batch job can be run directly from the Catalog pane once it has been added as a project item. As a project item, the Reviewer batch job can be run on the entire database or the current map extent. This allows you to control which features are validated using the configured checks stored in your Reviewer batch job.

Note:

The Connectivity Rules, Metadata, and Custom check types are not supported and will be skipped during batch job execution. However, all other checks in the batch job run against the data.

If you want to run a batch job that is not already added to the project, you can drag and drop a Reviewer batch job (.rbj file) stored on your computer directly into the Batch Job File parameter on the Execute Reviewer Batch Job geoprocessing tool.

Run a batch job on the full database

When a Reviewer batch job is run on the full database, all the features in the applicable feature classes are validated based on the conditions specified in the checks. For instance, suppose one of the checks in your Reviewer batch job finds bridges that do not overlap road features. Running the Reviewer batch job on the full database would mean that all the bridges would be validated to see if they have roads beneath them. This includes features that are not included in the current active map.

1. If necessary, add a batch job to the current project.
   1. On the Insert tab, in the Project group, click the Connections drop-down arrow and click Data Reviewer > Add Reviewer Batch Jobs.
   2. Browse to the directory that contains the batch jobs and choose one or more to add to the project.

      You can select multiple batch jobs by pressing the Ctrl or Shift key and clicking the batch job files.

   3. Click OK.

   The batch jobs are added in the Reviewer Batch Jobs folder on the Catalog pane.

2. Right-click the Reviewer batch job to run, point to Execute, and click Full Database.

   The Execute Reviewer Batch Job pane appears and is populated with the batch job file name and the production workspace name, if there is only one data workspace in your map. The Reviewer Workspace parameter is automatically populated using the connection to the Reviewer workspace in your project.

3. Click the Session drop-down arrow and choose which session is going to store the batch job results.
4. Click Run.

The batch job runs on all the features referenced by the checks. If the Reviewer session that will store the results is open in the Reviewer Results window, the batch job results appear.

Run a batch job on the current map extent

Running a batch job on the current map extent validates data sources that are currently visible in the active map extent. For instance, you may have checks that ensure building features meet a specific minimum size. Rather than validating all the features in the building feature class, the checks will only analyze the building polygons that fall within the current active map extent. This could also include building features that are not displayed in the map, such as features that are excluded due to a layer definition query.

1. If necessary, add a batch job to the current project.
   1. On the Insert tab, in the Project group, click the Connections drop-down arrow and click Data Reviewer > Add Reviewer Batch Jobs.
   2. Browse to the directory that contains the batch jobs and choose one or more to add to the project.

      You can select multiple batch jobs by pressing the Ctrl or Shift key and clicking the batch job files.

   3. Click OK.

   The batch jobs are added in the Reviewer Batch Jobs folder on the Catalog pane.

2. Right-click the Reviewer batch job you want to run, point to Execute, and click Active Map Extent.

   The Execute Reviewer Batch Job pane appears and is populated with the batch job file name and the production workspace name, if there is only one data workspace in your map.
