Enter attributes for new features

In the Create Features pane, on the active template, the forward arrow Forward opens the template in the pane and displays the feature attribute table. After changing the values, create the feature. Your changes are not saved with the template properties.

Enter new values

To enter attributes for new features, on the active template, click the forward arrow Forward, type the new attribute values, and create the new feature.

  1. On the Edit tab in the Features group, click Create Create Features.

    The Create Features pane opens, listing the feature templates defined for the active map.

  2. Click a feature template.

    The template becomes active and displays the tool palette.

  3. On the active template, click the forward arrow Forward.

    The template opens in the pane, displaying the tool palette and the feature attribute table.

  4. If the template is a group template, in the Templates section, click a template to display its attribute table.
  5. In the attribute table, type the values you want to apply to the new feature.
  6. When you finish entering attributes, click a feature construction tool and create the feature.
  7. When you finish creating the feature, right-click and click Finish Finish or press the F2 key.
  8. Click the back arrow Back to return to the list of feature templates.

Get unique values

To enter values from a list of unique values contained in the source data, right-click the field, click Get Unique Values, click the drop-arrow, and click the value.

Note:

The context menu is not available when input to a field is constrained to an attribute domain.

  2. Click a feature template.

  3. On the active template, click the forward arrow Forward.

    The template opens in the pane, displaying the tool palette and the feature attributes table.

  4. If the template is a group template, in the Templates section, click a template to display its attribute table.
  5. Right-click the field and click Get Unique Values.

    ArcGIS Pro reads the unique values and creates a drop-down list in the field.

  6. Click the drop-down arrow in the field and click a value.

    The value is added to the field.

  7. When you finish entering attributes, click a feature construction tool and create the feature.
  8. When you finish creating the feature, right-click and click Finish Finish or press the F2 key.
  9. Click the back arrow Back to return to the list of feature templates.

Cut or copy and paste a value

To cut or copy and paste values between fields, select the value, right-click, click Cut or Copy, click the destination field, right-click, and click Paste.

  5. Select the value, right-click, and click Cut or Copy.
  6. Click the destination field, right-click, and click Paste.

    The field value is replaced with the pasted value.

  7. When you finish entering attributes, click a feature construction tool and create the feature.
  8. When you finish creating the feature, right-click and click Finish Finish or press the F2 key.
  9. Click the back arrow Back to return to the list of feature templates.
