Snap to specific features

While sketching feature geometry, you can snap to another feature by right-clicking the target feature, clicking Snap To Feature, and choosing a snap agent. The snap agent temporarily overrides your current snapping preferences.

To snap to a feature while actively sketching geometry, complete the following steps:

  1. If necessary, start creating a feature:
    1. On the ribbon, click the Edit tab. In the Features group, click Create Create Features.
    2. In the Create Features pane, click a feature template.
    3. If you choose a line or polygon feature template, create at least one vertex.
  2. Right-click the target feature geometry to which you want to snap, click Snap To Feature, and choose a snapping agent.
