002968: The table '<value>' contains several records for '<value>' = '<value>' without indication of the primary record. Affected languages: '<value>'. The first record will be marked as Primary.

Description

Two or more records in the data have the same Join ID and language code values, but the primary record is not specified in an alternate role. A best practice is to indicate primary values by mapping the Primary Name Indicator field when there are several records with the same Join ID and language code in the reference data for the alternate role.

Solution

Assign values that indicate primary and nonprimary values for all cases in which multiple records have the same Join ID and language code in the reference data for the alternate role, and map the corresponding Primary field. Additionally, ensure that the primary record occurs first in a group of records with the same Join ID and language code in the reference data. If you do so and the Primary field is unmapped, the first records will be considered primary by the Create Locator tool.
