Summary

Calculates the Ferrous Minerals (FM) ratio from a multiband raster object and returns a raster object with the index values.

Discussion

The Ferrous Minerals (FM) ratio method is a geological index for identifying rock features containing some quantity of iron-bearing minerals using the SWIR and NIR bands. FM is used in mineral composite mapping.

The referenced raster dataset for the raster object is temporary. To make it permanent, you can call the raster object's save method.

FerrousMinerals (raster, {swir_band_id}, {nir_band_id})

The band ID of the shortwave infrared (SWIR) band.

The band ID index uses one-based indexing.

(The default value is 6)
