Export a trace configuration

The Export Trace Configurations tool allows you to export one or more named trace configurations from a utility network to a .json file for sharing across multiple utility networks.

Requirements

  • The Input Utility Network parameter value must be version 5 or later.

When working with an enterprise geodatabase, the following apply:

  • The Input Utility Network parameter value must be from a utility network service.

Follow these steps to export named trace configurations from a utility network:

  1. On the Analysis tab, in the Geoprocessing group, click Tools Tools to open the Geoprocessing pane.
  2. In the Geoprocessing pane, search for and select Export Trace Configurations.

    The tool can be found in the Trace Configuration toolset of the Utility Network toolbox.

  3. For Input Utility Network, specify a utility network.
  4. For Trace Configuration, select one or more named trace configurations from the list provided.
  5. Click Run.
  6. The selected named trace configurations are exported from the Input Utility Network to the specified output .json file. For an example output, see Export Trace Configurations.
