Summary
The Find Orphan Events check finds linear referenced events that have no association to a route feature. Events without an association may include routes that do not exist in the linear referencing system (LRS), or retired routes associated with active events.

Overview
The Find Orphan Events check identifies detached linear referenced events from an associated route, such as events that are no longer associated to an active route in a LRS.
Industry scenarios
This check can be used in the following scenarios:
- In roadway or pipeline management, find an event feature that has a NULL RouteId field value.
- In roadway or pipeline management, find an event feature with a RouteId field value that does not correspond to an existing route in the LRS.

Notes
Keep the following in mind when using the check:
- This check supports validation of events stored in point and line feature classes.
- This check supports validation of events that are stored in an enterprise geodatabase and registered with the linear referencing system (LRS) of either ArcGIS Roads and Highways or ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing.
- For partially retired routes with active associated events, the entire length of the route is captured as an error.
- The Attribute filter parameter is limited to comparison (=, <>, >, <, >=, <=) and logical (AND/OR, IN/NOT IN, LIKE/NOT LIKE, IS NULL) operators.
