Enable control points or change symbology

To edit control points when you edit vertices or resume editing a feature that contains control points, enable control points. Customizable settings include the symbol, color, outline, size, and angle. These settings are available on the Editing tab in project Options.

To enable control points or change the appearance of control points, complete the following steps:

  1. On the ribbon, click the Edit tab. In the Manage Edits group, click the Editing Options dialog box launcher Launcher.

    Alternatively, click the Project tab, and click Options in the list of side tabs.

    The Options dialog box appears.

  2. Click the Editing tab in the Options dialog box, and expand Symbology > Control Points.
  3. Check the Enable control points check box.

    Uncheck this setting to hide control points and turn off the control point commands.

  4. To change the appearance of control points, click Control point unselected or Control point selected and configure the settings described in the following table:

    Form

    Click the drop-down arrow and choose a symbol.

    Color

    Click the drop-down arrow and choose a color.

    Outline color

    Click the drop-down arrow and choose an outline color.

    Outline width

    Click the text box, and type a width value or click the control arrows.

    Note:

    Not available with Control point selected.

    Size

    Click the text box, and type a point size or click the control arrows.

    Angle

    Click the text box, and type an angle value or click the control arrows.

    To reset all control point symbology options to their default values click Reset to default Reset.

  5. Click OK.
