Move, rotate, or scale annotation

The Annotation tool Edit Annotation moves, scales, and rotates annotation features by dragging the feature or a selection box handle. This tool is available in the Modify Features pane.

When you use this tool, consider the following:

  • In some cases, annotation created in a previous release of ArcGIS Pro can’t be edited until you upgrade the annotation dataset with the Upgrade Dataset geoprocessing tool.
  • The annotation selection tool selects only annotation features and excludes other feature types from a selection.
  • To prevent unintended rotation or scaling, uncheck Enable rotate and resize.

Move

To move an annotation feature, select the feature, and drag it when the pointer changes to the move cursor. To snap the feature to another feature, press S and use the selection anchor. Press Ctrl to drag the anchor to a useful location.

Confirm that the feature layer you are editing is editable, the coordinate system assigned to the active map is suitable for the type of edits you're performing, and snapping is configured to help you work efficiently and accurately.
