Manage job attachments

Available with Workflow Manager license.

You can associate attachments with jobs in ArcGIS Workflow Manager to help provide context or additional information about work being performed. You can manage job attachments on the Attachments tab in the Workflow pane in ArcGIS Pro.

Add job attachments

To add an attachment, complete the following steps:

Note:

If you don’t have sufficient privileges, you can't add attachments to jobs.

  1. In the Workflow pane, click View Job Details View Job Details for the job to which you want to add attachments.

    The job's properties appear in the Workflow pane.

  2. In the Workflow pane, click the Attachments tab Attachments.

    A list of job attachments appears in the Workflow pane.

    Note:

    If you don’t have sufficient privileges, the Attachments tab is not available in the Workflow pane.

  3. Click Add Attachment Attachments next to the name of the folder to which you want to add the attachment and choose the type of attachment you want to add:
    • Browse Local Files—Uploads a file and attaches it to the job
      Note:

      The maximum file size of each embedded attachment is determined by your feature layer.

    • URL—Associates a file URL with the job
    • Link—Associates either a file, folder path, or a document ID with the job
  4. Follow the prompts on the screen to add the attachment to the job.

    A confirmation message appears, indicating that the job attachment was saved.

Show and download job attachments

Complete the following steps to show and download job attachments:

  1. In the Workflow pane, click View Job Details View Job Details for the job that contains attachments that you want to view and download.

    The job's properties appear in the Workflow pane.

  2. In the Workflow pane, click the Attachments tab Attachments.

    A list of job attachments appears in the Workflow pane.

    Note:

    If you don’t have sufficient privileges, the Attachments tab is not available in the Workflow pane.

  3. Depending on the attachment type, do the following:
    • Click Download Attachment Download to download an embedded attachment.
    • Click View Attachment Link to open the URL of the attachment in your default web browser.
    • Click Copy Text Copy to copy the linked attachment file's document ID.
    • Click Open File Path Copy File Path to copy the attachment's file or folder path.
    Tip:

    Hover over the attachment name to display who last updated the attachment and the modification date.

Rename job attachments

To rename a job attachment, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Workflow pane, click View Job Details View Job Details for the job that contains the attachments that you want to rename.

    The job's properties appear in the Workflow pane.

  2. In the Workflow pane, click the Attachments tab Attachments.

    A list of job attachments appears in the Workflow pane.

    Note:

    If you don’t have sufficient privileges, the Attachments tab is not available in the Workflow pane.

  3. Click Rename Pencil to rename the attachment.
  4. Type a new name for the attachment in the text box and click Confirm Name Check mark to rename the attachment.

    A confirmation message appears, indicating that the attachment name was updated.

Delete job attachments

To delete a job attachment, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Workflow pane, click View Job Details View Job Details for the job that contains the attachments that you want to delete.

    The job's properties appear in the Workflow pane.

  2. In the Workflow pane, click the Attachments tab Attachments.

    A list of job attachments appears in the Workflow pane.

    Note:

    If you don’t have sufficient privileges, the Attachments tab is not available in the Workflow pane.

  3. Click Delete Delete next to the attachment you want to delete.

    The Delete Attachment dialog box appears.

    Caution:

    Deleted job attachments can't be recovered.

  4. Click Yes to delete the attachment or click No to cancel.
