You can deploy the parcel fabric on a file geodatabase, a mobile geodatabase, or an enterprise geodatabase. Parcel fabric versions must be deployed on their minimum required release versions of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise and on their minimum supported database versions.
Deployment types
The parcel fabric uses the following deployment types:
- Enterprise deployment—For a multiuser editing environment
- Single-user deployment—For a single-user editing environment
These deployments have the following ArcGIS system compatibility requirements:
Deployment | Number of editors | Geodatabase | ArcGIS Pro license level |
---|---|---|---|
Enterprise | Many | ||
Single-user | One |
Deploy in an enterprise environment
In an enterprise environment, the parcel fabric is edited and maintained using a services-based architecture. A services-based architecture allows you to share the parcel fabric across all platforms (desktop, mobile, and web), and different workflows can be enabled on different clients in the field and in the office.
ArcGIS Enterprise uses web services and can be installed on-premises or in a cloud-based environment.

The benefits of deploying the parcel fabric in an enterprise environment include the following:
- Improved scalability and performance. Maintain large parcel fabrics in a multiuser environment.
- Branch versioning. Work with historic moments.
- Management of user types, roles, and privileges.
- Enhanced editor tracking capabilities with branch versioning. For example, you can track users who delete features within a version.
- Use of web services. Share and edit data across multiple clients (desktop, web, and mobile) in real time.
- Integration with external business systems and automation using the parcel fabric REST API.

Parcel fabric versions and ArcGIS system compatibility
Use the table below to determine which versions of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise are required for your parcel fabric version.
ArcGIS Enterprise release | ArcGIS Pro releases | Parcel fabric version |
---|---|---|
10.7.1 | 2.4 (deprecated) | 1 (deprecated) |
10.8 | 2.5 (deprecated) | 2 (deprecated) |
10.8.1 | 2.6 (deprecated) | 3 (deprecated) |
10.9 | 2.7, 2.8 | 4 |
10.9.1 | 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 | 5 |
11.0 | 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 | 5 |
11.1 | 3.1, 3.2 | 5 |
11.2 | 3.2 | 5 |
Note:
The required ArcGIS Pro release, the parcel fabric version, and the ArcGIS Enterprise release numbers must match the numbers in the table above.
Parcel fabric versions and database compatibility
The following table shows the minimum supported database versions that are compatible with parcel fabric versions:

Licensing
Parcel fabric enterprise and single-user deployments require the following licensing:
Deployment | Required ArcGIS Pro license level | Includes | Web and mobile clients |
---|---|---|---|
Enterprise | GIS Professional user type (Standard/Advanced) and the appropriate user type extension. | A user type extension add-on is required | |
Single-user | ArcGIS Pro license (Standard/Advanced) | Not supported |
In an enterprise deployment, the parcel fabric is published to Portal for ArcGIS. It is recommended that you publish your parcel fabric to the same portal that is used to manage licenses.
Note:
In an enterprise deployment, if you license ArcGIS Pro using Single Use, Named User in ArcGIS Online, or Concurrent Use licensing, the administrator of the portal hosting the parcel fabric service must assign the user type extension as a separate add-on license to the appropriate portal users.
Parcel Fabric Service user type extension
The ArcGIS Parcel Fabric user type extension is applicable to all releases including and between ArcGIS Pro 2.5 and ArcGIS Pro 3.1 and all ArcGIS Enterprise releases including and between 10.8 and 11.1.
To use the parcel fabric framework with ArcGIS Enterprise releases 10.8 to 11.1, your organization members must be assigned a license for the ArcGIS Parcel Fabric user type extension. This user type extension is included in the GIS Professional Standard and GIS Professional Advanced user types. It can also be included as an add-on for user types with at least the capability to view and edit data, for example, parcel fabric users that perform web editing.

ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension
The ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension is applicable to ArcGIS Pro 3.2 and later and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 and later. In ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 and later, the ArcGIS Parcel Fabric user type extension is consolidated with other advanced editing capabilities into the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension. The ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension provides access to the utility network, trace network, and parcel fabric frameworks.
To use the parcel fabric framework with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 and later, your organization members must be assigned a license for the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension. This user type extension is included in the GIS Professional Standard and GIS Professional Advanced user types. It can also be included as an add-on for user types with at least the capability to view and edit data, for example, parcel fabric users that perform web editing.
If you are upgrading to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 from a previous version, you will need to provision new ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS license files for 11.2 from My Esri. The Portal for ArcGIS license file (.json) includes all your user type and add-on licenses. If members are assigned the ArcGIS Parcel Fabric user type extension after upgrading, administrators will need to unassign these licenses after upgrading and assign the ArcGIS Advanced Editing user type extension.
