Overview
The Find Polygons with Holes check finds holes in polygon features. The check stores the geometry of the hole as an error.
Industry scenarios
This check can be used in the following scenarios:
- In topographic mapping, the Multinational Geospatial Co-production Program (MGCP) requires that island polygon features do not have holes.
- In parcel management, buildings, condo units, or water bodies that have been cut into a parcel but later need to be restored to the full parcel extent can use this check.
- In data management, having a record of where polygons with holes (donuts) are located can help verify processed data results.

Notes
Keep the following in mind when using the check:
- Only input features with a validation status of 2 (No calculation required, validation required, no error), 3 (No calculation required, validation required, has error(s)), 6 (Calculation required, validation required, no error) or 7 (Calculation required, validation required, has error(s)) are considered during rule evaluation.
- The Attribute filter parameter is limited to comparison (=, <>, >, <, >=, <=) and logical (AND/OR, IN/NOT IN, LIKE/NOT LIKE, IS NULL) operators.
- The Attribute filter parameter does not support the following field types: Big Integer, Date Only, Time Only, and Timestamp Offset. If selected, the row header will turn red and will not allow the rule to save.
