When you create features with a feature template, attribute values that are saved with a template are applied to new features. Template default values can include a mix of geodatabase default values and other values configured for a specific workflow.
To enter attribute values for new features, click the Active Template button before you create a feature. Attribute values entered in the Active Template view override a feature template's default values.
When you enter attribute values, consider the following:
- To restore a field value to the last saved template default value, right-click the field name and click Revert . If a template default value doesn’t exist, the field is restored to the geodatabase default value.
- For workflows that frequently enter different values, consider configuring the feature template to show one or more fields next to the tool palette.
- When you create a feature, the feature is selected, and its attributes are editable in the Attributes pane until you perform an operation that changes the selection.
