The Update COGO tool updates the direction and distance attributes of a COGO-enabled line feature to match the geometry of a selected feature. This tool is available In the Modify Features pane.
When you use this tool, consider the following
- You can specify a value tolerance to preserve existing values that do not exceed the tolerance.
- If Ground to Grid corrections are turned on, the calculated values are rotated and scaled by the current correction settings.
Tip:
You can edit COGO feature attributes in the Attributes pane. The Direction attribute includes a drop-down menu for specifying values in the quadrant bearing format
To update COGO attributes, complete the following steps:
- On the ribbon, click the Edit tab. In the Corrections group, click Ground To Grid and confirm your settings.
- On the Edit tab, in the Features group, click Modify .
- In the Modify Features pane, click Update COGO .
To find the tool, expand COGO, or type Update COGO in the Search text box.
- In the tool pane, click Select one or more lines and select a COGO-enabled line feature.
To change the selection method click the selection drop-down arrow.
To remove features from the selection in the pane selection view, right-click a feature and click Unselect , or click Only Select This to keep the feature and remove all others from the selection.
- To update distance attributes, check Distances and click one of the following options until it appears filled.
Update all values
Update all distance attributes.
Update by a value difference tolerance
Update distance attributes only when the new calculated value exceeds the specified distance.
- Specify the distance in the Distance difference parameter box.
- Specify a distance of zero (0) to update only the attributes that are currently set to Null.
- To update direction attributes, check Directions and click one of the following options until it appears filled.
Update all values
Update all direction attributes.
Update by a value difference tolerance
Update distance attributes only when the new calculated value exceeds the specified direction and lateral offset.
- Specify the direction and lateral offset in the Direction difference and Lateral offset parameter boxes.
- Specify a direction and offset of zero (0) to update only the attributes that are currently set to Null.
- Click Update.
