Supported AutoCAD and MicroStation geometry

ArcGIS Pro reads CAD files as CAD feature datasets that contain read-only CAD feature classes. The following table identifies the supported CAD entities from standard AutoCAD and MicroStation and the corresponding ArcGIS feature class geometry type. Complex CAD elements may be represented in multiple feature classes according to their geometric type. There is additional support for Civil 3D entities and drawing content created using Esri's ArcGIS for AutoCAD plug-in to AutoCAD.

Note:

Content stored in AutoCAD paper space or sheet models in MicroStation is not translated, and it is not viewable in ArcGIS Pro. A single MicroStation file may contain multiple model drawings containing valid geometry used by ArcGIS Pro.

Supported AutoCAD and MicroStation geometry

Annotation The TextString field contains the GIS version of the text. The CAD text string without formatting codes is stored in the TEXT and Refname fields. The CAD version of the text with possible CAD formatting codes is stored in the TxtMemo field. Symbols are rendered with equivalent ArcGIS fonts. 	Block reference The base point determines the point's location. Attribute tag names are displayed as field headings in the attribute table. Attribute values are translated as field values.
