Open a table view to display the attribute information stored in the data source in a tabular format. Two types of table views are available, depending on how you open the table:

  • Open a table view of a layer or stand-alone table from a map or scene to edit values, select or query records, and view related data.
  • Open a table view from the Catalog pane or a catalog view to manage and review the data.

Tables opened from a map, scene, or a catalog view open below that view in the application by default. Adjust the project settings to control the position of a table in the project, if necessary. More than one table can be open simultaneously.

Add and open a stand-alone or attribute table from a map or scene

To add a stand-alone table to a map or scene, use one of these methods:

  • Drag the table from the Catalog pane into the current map view.
  • Right-click the table in the Catalog pane and click Add To Current Map Add To Current Map.
  • On the Map tab, in the Layer group, click Add Data Add Data and browse to the table.
  • Right-click a group layer in the Contents pane, click Add Data Add Data, and browse to the table.

To open the table view of a stand-alone or attribute table from a map or scene to edit values, reorder fields, select or query records, or view related data, use any of the following methods:

  • Right-click a layer in the Contents pane and click Attribute Table Open Table.
  • Select a layer in the Contents pane and press Ctrl+T to open the table view for that layer.
  • Right-click a stand-alone table in the Contents pane and click Open Open Table.
  • To open a table view directly in the selected view, select some features on the map. Right-click the layer in the Contents pane, point to Selection, and click Attribute Table Showing Selection Open Selected.

Hover over the table view tab to see the name of the map containing the table following the table name, such as AttributeTable2 - Map1.

Open a table from a catalog view or the Catalog pane

Open the table view of a stand-alone or attribute table from a catalog view or the Catalog pane to manage and review the data. Right-click the table in the Catalog pane and click Open Table Open Table to open a stand-alone table outside of a map or scene.
