An overview of the Summarize Data toolset

The Summarize Data toolset contains tools that calculate total counts, lengths, areas, and basic descriptive statistics of features and their attributes within areas or near other features.

This toolset uses distributed processing to complete analytics on your GeoAnalytics Server.

Legacy:

The ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Server extension is being deprecated in ArcGIS Enterprise. The final release of GeoAnalytics Server was included with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3.

These tools are available through ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and earlier versions when you have an active ArcGIS Enterprise portal that has GeoAnalytics Server configured for the Feature Analysis - GeoAnalytics Tools setting. To access and run the tools, you must have spatial analysis privileges.

These tools can be accessed from either the Analysis ribbon or the Portal tab in the Geoprocessing pane.

ToolDescription

Aggregate Points

Aggregates points into polygon features or bins. A polygon is returned with a count of points as well as optional statistics at all locations where points exist.

Describe Dataset

Summarizes features into calculated field statistics, sample features, and extent boundaries.

Join Features

Joins attributes from one layer to another based on spatial, temporal, or attribute relationships, or a combination of those relationships.

Reconstruct Tracks

Creates line or polygon tracks from time-enabled input data.

Summarize Attributes

Calculates summary statistics for fields in a feature class.

Summarize Center And Dispersion

Finds central features and directional distributions and calculates mean and median locations from the input.

Summarize Within

Overlays a polygon layer with another layer to summarize the number of points, length of the lines, or area of the polygons within each polygon and calculates attribute field statistics for those features within the polygons.
