Update packages in an environment using the Package Manager page.
Note:
The update process maintains package version compatibility with all dependencies of the environment. A package will not update if the version would be incompatible with the environment.
Update all packages
To update all packages in an environment, complete the following steps:
- On the ribbon, click the Project tab.
The settings page appears.
- In the list of side tabs, click Package Manager.
The Package Manager page appears.
- Click the Updates tab.
The Updates tab appears with a list of packages in the environment that have a more recent version.
- Click the Update All button
.Depending on the number of packages to update, updating the packages may take several minutes. You can monitor progress in the Tasks section of the Package Manager page.
The environments are updated.
Update a single package
To update a single package in an environment, complete the following steps:
- On the ribbon, click the Project tab.
The settings page appears.
- In the list of side tabs, click Package Manager.
The Package Manager page appears.
- Click the Updates tab.
The Updates tab appears with a list of packages in the environment that have a more recent version.
- Click the row of the package to update.
- Click the Update button.
You can monitor the progress of the update in the Tasks section of the Package Manager page.
The environment is updated.
Alternatively, to update a package from the Installed tab, complete the following steps:
- On the ribbon, click the Project tab.
The settings page appears.
- In the list of side tabs, click Package Manager.
The Package Manager page appears.
- Click the Installed tab.
- Click the row of any package that has an Upgrade icon
, and click the Update button.
The environment is updated.
