Nudge features

The Nudge commands Nudge Down move features by a small distance to the left or right, or in the up or down direction. The commands are available on the context menu when you edit a feature with the Move tool Move or Annotation tool Edit Annotation and right-click the map or press Alt+Arrow key.

When using the Annotation tool, nudging annotation that is constrained to follow a feature moves text along the edge of the associated feature based on the current follow feature settings.

When nudging features, consider the following:

  • Nudge commands are available only when map topology is set to No Topology No Topology.
  • The nudge distance is specified on the Editor Settings dialog box on the Constraints side tab. The default distance is 10 pixels. It can be changed and specified as pixels or map units. When a geographic coordinate system is assigned to a map, units are set to meters.
  • To nudge annotation leader anchor points with their respective annotation features, use the Move tool.

Note:

Nudge commands are not available in 3D scenes.
