When delivering a presentation in full screen, a video page has options you can use to interact with the playback experience. You can start and stop the playback using on screen buttons or keyboard shortcuts, use a video progress bar to find precise points in the video, and mute or unmute any audio accompanying the video.
By default, a video page does not automatically start playing when the page is displayed. This allows you, as the presenter, time to introduce the video subject first if necessary. Use the Page Properties pane, and check Automatically start video if you do not want to manually begin the video playback when the page is displayed.
Full screen playback controls are hidden from the display while the video is playing so they do not overlap any video content. Once the pointer moves in the view, the playback controls are no longer hidden. Full screen keyboard shortcuts will work regardless of whether the playback controls are hidden.
To interact with a video in full screen, do any of the following:
- Click the Play
and Pause
buttons on the full-screen view, or use the Spacebar keyboard shortcut to start and pause playback anytime during a video page. This also applies to any page configured with an Advance Page After duration. This allows you time to pause the page if necessary. - Hover over the video progress bar to see the current playback time and the time where the pointer is positioned. You can click anywhere on the progress bar to move to that time, or drag the playback timeline to the desired position.
- Press the Mute
and Unmute
buttons or use the Shift+M keyboard shortcut to turn sound on or off for the video page.
