ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension

Available with Data Interoperability license.

The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop is an integrated spatial extract, transform, and load (ETL) toolset that runs in the geoprocessing framework using Safe Software's FME technology. When using the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop, you can also launch the Workbench application directly, which allows you to author FMW files that you can directly attach to an ETL tool.

ArcGIS Pro

The Data Interoperability extension for ArcGIS Desktop is a separate extension and is a separate install.

  • Authorizing the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop with a valid license in ArcGIS Pro adds additional out-of-the-box support for creating ETL tools using the FME Workbench application.
  • The ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop uses FME technology. Safe Software also sell their own FME Esri Edition product which can extend ArcMap but cannot extend ArcGIS Pro.
