Visualize a multidimensional mosaic dataset

This workflow shows the steps to visualize a multidimensional mosaic dataset based on time series data.

For information on how to create a multidimensional mosaic dataset using netCDF, HDF, or GRIB files, see Creating a multidimensional mosaic dataset. Visualize the multidimensional mosaic dataset

You can visualize a multidimensional mosaic dataset with the time slider. For more information on using the time slider, see Visualize temporal data using the time slider.

  1. Add the multidimensional mosaic dataset to a map in ArcGIS Pro.
  2. In the Contents pane, right-click the mosaic dataset layer and click Properties.
  3. Click the Time tab.
  4. You can click the Calculate button to calculate the time extent of the mosaic dataset, or you can manually set the time extent to visualize.
  5. If you selected multiple variables when adding the data, click the Processing Templates tab.
    1. Click the Processing Template drop down arrow to see the processing templates for each variable in the multidimensional mosaic dataset.
  6. Click OK to apply the time setting and close the Layer Properties dialog box.
  7. In the Contents pane, select the mosaic dataset.
  8. On the Data contextual tab, click Processing Templates and choose the processing template for the variable you would like to view in map.
  9. Now you can animate the data using the time slider.
