00256: Server version <value> tool <value> does not have new parameter

The model tool you are attempting to publish has a new parameter of a system tool that does not exist in the ArcGIS Enterprise version where you are attempting to publish. System tools can be updated with new parameters to provide more functionality in a new version of ArcGIS Pro. The parameter and functionality of the updated tool does not exist in the previous version of the hosting ArcGIS Server. If you use the new parameter of the system tool as a model tool parameter, it won't publish to the server due to an error message with this number. If you do not use the new parameter as a model tool parameter, only a warning message with this number appears and you can publish.

Solution

If an error message appears, upgrade ArcGIS Server to the same version (or a later version) of ArcGIS Pro.

If upgrading ArcGIS Server is not possible, modify the model tool so the new parameter that is not supported on the server side is not used as a model tool parameter. Rerun the model tool and publish.
