To work with ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro, the following software needs to be installed and licensed in the order listed below.
- ArcGIS Pro, version 3.1 or later, licensed at a Standard or Advanced level
- ArcGIS Reality Studio
- ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro extension (licensing not required)
- ArcGIS Coordinate System Data (recommended; licensing not required)
After you download ArcGIS Reality Studio and review the system requirements, you are ready to install the software.
You can make either a per-machine installation (the default) or a per-user installation of ArcGIS Pro. A per-machine installation allows any user to run ArcGIS Pro on the computer on which it is installed. A per-user installation allows only the user who installs it to run the application.
The default installation location for a per-machine installation is <System Drive>\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro. The default installation location for a per-user installation is <System Drive>\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\ArcGIS\Pro.
Note:
To make a per-user installation on supported Windows Server operating systems, the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer must contain the REG_DWORD data type DisableMSI, with a value of 0. For more information, see the Microsoft help topic DisableMSI.

To authorize Reality Studio, complete the following steps:
- Start Reality Studio.

Note:
If you don’t currently have internet access, click Authorize at Esri’s website or by email to receive your authorization file and follow the prompts to fill in the form and save it as a text file.

Install ArcGIS Coordinate System Data
Some geographic transformations, such as NTv2, GEOCON, and NADCON5, and vertical transformations based on geoids, quasi-geoids, or other conversion grids, such as EGM and VERTCON, require additional coordinate system files to properly render features.
These files are not installed with ArcGIS Pro, but they are included as supplementary coordinate system files, which you can download from My Esri and install on each machine where ArcGIS Pro is installed.
Installation instructions for the supplementary coordinate system files are available at ArcGIS Coordinate Systems Data.
Uninstall ArcGIS Reality Studio
ArcGIS Reality Desktop includes both ArcGIS Reality Studio and ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro, and either the ArcGIS Reality Studio app or the ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro extension can be used concurrently. However, you can work with ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro without having ArcGIS Reality Studio installed on your computer.
Note:
The uninstallation of ArcGIS Reality Studio, after it has been initially licensed, will not adversely impact the operations of ArcGIS Reality for ArcGIS Pro.
Uninstall ArcGIS Reality Studio using either your computer's Control Panel or Windows Settings.
