Analyze spatial entities

Once a knowledge graph has been added to a map, any entities with associated spatial features can be analyzed from a geographic perspective using geoprocessing operations. For example, you can use the Pairwise Buffer geoprocessing tool to determine a spatial area around an entity of interest in which you want to look for other entities.

Learn about spatial analysis

  1. Add a knowledge graph to a map.

  2. On the Analysis tab on the ribbon, in the Geoprocessing group, click Tools Tools.

    The Geoprocessing pane appears.

  3. On the Favorites tab, click the Pairwise Buffer tool Tool.
  4. Click the drop-down list for the Input Features parameter.

    The knowledge graph feature layers in the map are available in the drop-down list.

  5. Click the entity type whose features you want to analyze with the geoprocessing tool.
  6. Click in the Distance parameter and provide a suitable value, such as 2. Click the drop-down list for the units of measure and click a suitable measure of distance, such as Kilometers.
  7. Click Run Run.

A feature class containing polygons that represent a 2-kilometer area around the entity's spatial features is created in the project's default geodatabase. The resulting feature class is added to the map.

Buffers are created around an entity's spatial features.
