  • The Input Utility Network parameter value must be from a utility network service.

Follow these steps to import named trace configurations from a .json file to a utility network:

  1. On the Analysis tab, in the Geoprocessing group, click Tools Tools to open the Geoprocessing pane.
  2. In the Geoprocessing pane, search for and select Import Trace Configurations.

The tool can be found in the Trace Configuration toolset of the Utility Network toolbox.

  3. For Input Utility Network, specify a utility network.
  4. For Input File (.json), specify the name and location of the .json file containing the named trace configurations.
  5. Click Run.
  6. The named trace configurations are imported to the Input Utility Network.

    Note:

The creator value in the .json file is honored during import. Since the portal utility network owner is the only user who can view and work with all trace configurations in a utility network, it is important to update the creator value as necessary to ensure proper access to the imported named trace configurations in an enterprise geodatabase.
