The Editing Status dialog box reports permissions, warnings, and version status for source data contained in maps and scenes in the current project. It is available on the ribbon Edit tab in the Manage Edits group.

To view the editability of source data in a map or scene, complete the following steps:
- Click the ribbon Edit tab. In the Manage Edits group, click Status
.
The Editing Status dialog box appears.
- In the list of side tabs, click a map or scene.
Status information appears in the status window organized by whether source data is Editable
, Noneditable
, or Editable with warnings
and further organized by error or warning.
- To filter the list for a specific data source or layer, click and type a keyword in the Search box
and press Enter.
To clear the search box, click Delete
or press the Backspace key and press Enter.
Tip:
To restore a recent search word, click the search drop-down arrow. Search history is available until you close the project or clear the history.
- Click and expand a status category and error or warning if it exists.
To open an associated help topic, click Tell me about this …
appearing next to an error or warning.
Data sources are listed by workspace and their associated layers.
- To view additional information, hover over a workspace to view its name and path. Hover over a layer to view its name, service path, and database version.
- Click Close.
The dialog box closes.
