Use enroute chart templates

The ArcGIS Aviation Charting product files package contains a .pagx template that you can use to create aeronautical charts. This template contains a sample map layout, a map, and symbology in the style of an ICAO enroute (ENR) chart. You can also use this template to create other types of charts including VFR charts.

Note:

If the product files are downloaded and installed, you can find the sample .pagx template at the following directory: <installation location>/SampleCharts/ICAO/Enroute/.

Complete the following steps to use this template in ArcGIS Pro.

  1. Double-click the ICAO_ENR_Sample_Chart_Layout.pagx file to open it in ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Pro opens and a map layout view for an ICAO style enroute chart appears.

  2. In the Catalog pane, expand the Map folder.
  3. Double-click ICAO ENR.

The ICAO ENR map appears on the map view.

  4. Right-click the Databases folder in the Catalog pane, and click Add Database.
  5. Browse to the location of the Aeronautical Information System (AIS) schema geodatabase that you want to use for your chart.
  6. Right-click the ICAO ENR map in the Catalog pane, and click Update Data Sources.

A Catalog view appears showing all of the feature layers on the map.

  7. On the Data Sources tab, click Workspace.
  8. Choose the AIS schema geodatabase corresponding with the feature layers in your project.
    Note:

You can also click the Click to repair layer's data source Repair Broken Data Source button next to each feature layer in the Contents pane to repair the feature layers.
