Adjust entities

You can adjust the placement of entities you have collected or undo and redo steps you have taken during collection.

To adjust entities you have created, complete the following steps:

1. On the ribbon, click the tab where you added the Clearing Grids tools, and click Open Clearing Grids .
2. In the Adjust group, select an action you want to complete.
   • To move a feature, click Move and select a feature to move it.
   • To delete a feature, click Select , select the desired feature, and click Delete .
   • To clear a selection without deleting the feature, click Clear .
   • To undo an action, click Undo .
   • To redo an action, click Redo .
   • To navigate the map without switching to the Map tab, click Explore .
3. When you are finished working with Clearing Grids, in the Close group, click Close Clearing Grids .

Insert a new feature into an existing sequence

You may want to insert a new feature into an existing sequence of features. To insert a new feature, complete the following steps:

1. In the Number/Letter Features group, from the Layer drop-down list, select the layer into which you will insert a new feature.
2. From the Field drop-down list, select the field storing the feature sequence.
3. Enter the value of the feature to be inserted in the Start/Next input box.
4. Click Add Number or Add Letter according to the type of layer you are working with.
5. Click the map to add a feature.

   If the number you entered already exists in the sequence on your map, the Clearing Grids sequence rearrange prompt appears.

6. Click Yes when prompted to insert the value.

Delete a feature from an existing sequence

You may want to delete a feature from an existing sequence of features. To delete a feature, complete the following steps:

1. In the Number/Letter Features group, from the Layer drop-down list, select the layer which you would like to delete a feature from.
2. From the Field drop-down list, select the field storing the feature sequence.
3. In the Selection group, click Select .
4. Select the feature to delete.
5. Click Delete .

   If you choose to delete a feature other than the final value in your map, the Clearing Grids sequence rearrange prompt appears.

6. On the prompt, click Yes to rearrange the feature sequence. Click No to skip that value in the feature sequence.

   Note:

   When you delete the final value in a sequence, if you want to reuse that value, you need to set the Start/Next value before using the Add Number button or Add Letter button .
