With the Association Manager tool, you can create, edit, and delete associations in an S-100 dataset. The Association Manager tool is in the S-100 Editing group on the Maritime S-100 tab of the ArcGIS Pro ribbon.
An association is a logical relationship between two or more feature types that specifies connections among their instances. You must have write access to the active workspace to create, append, or remove associations. You do not need write access to view existing associations in the active workspace.
For more information on types of associations, and what is allowed, refer to the S-100-based product specifications provided by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
Feature association
A feature association is a relationship that links instances of one feature type with instances of another feature type.
Information association
An information association binds at least one instance of a geographic feature to an information record. Information records are instances of information types, such as Contact Details or Spatial Quality. Spatial Quality information types must be associated to reference geometries that correspond to the features or feature segments that you want to create information associations for.
