Report document view

The report document view lists the contents of a report with metadata items such as title, data source, and page size. Similar metadata information can be seen for any report and supplemental page sections. To access it, click the report document title in the Contents pane. Items are listed in print order from the top down.

You can add subreports and supplemental pages to this view as a section in the report document.

To change the order of the sections, drag a section in the report document view. A gray line appears at available positions. Release the mouse button to apply the change. To move a report section by one position without manually dragging it, right-click the subreport or supplemental page in the Contents pane and click either Move Section Up Move Section Up or Move Section Down Move Section Down. You can also use this method while viewing individual sections of the report.

You can remove subreport and supplemental page sections from a report document. To remove a section from your report, right-click the section in the report document view and click Remove Section Remove Section. Alternatively, right-click the supplemental page in the Contents pane and click Remove Section Remove Section.

Note:

Keep the following in mind when removing a section from a report:

  • Removing a supplemental page section removes the link between the report document and the layout. It does not remove the layout from the project.
  • A report must contain a report section. If only one report section exists, it cannot be removed and the option is not available.
