000948: Error creating the geoprocessing object.

An unexpected error occurred when the script attempted to create the geoprocessing object. This error might occur if the incorrect version of Python is installed, the version of the script is more current than the software it is running on, or the software installation is somehow corrupted.

Check to see what version of Python is installed. If that version is older or newer than what your version of ArcGIS recommends, consider uninstalling it and installing the recommended Python software. Consider using the repair option on the ArcGIS installation disk. Try rebooting the machine. If these suggestions fail, consider uninstalling ArcGIS, uninstalling Python, rebooting the machine, then installing ArcGIS fresh. If Python is not installed, it will be installed during the ArcGIS installation process. Alternatively, contact Esri Technical Support.
